Yesterday I went for a short walk and came across these balloons stuck in a tree. The bright colors really  stood out against the bare tree branches and old stone church, and provided a wonderfully unexpected deviation from the wintery landscape.

We are due to get yet another snowstorm in Boston over the next two days. I really do love winter. Getting all bundled up, playing in the snow, drinking hot chocolate - that's all great, but the amount of snow we have been getting lately is a little excessive. [Please direct me back to this post when I'm complaining about the heat in the summer.]

On the bright side, at least I'm getting really good wear out of my snow boots!

  1. what a great picture! stay warm through the storm.

    i wander, i wonder

  2. Thanks so much for your comment! Lately I've been running across tons of lovely Boston blogs, which is fun because my husband and I might be moving there this summer. Your photos are wonderful. It's great to get another perspective on the city. :)

  3. what a great, playful photo. I especially like the contrast of the grays with the vibrant balloons. spring is (hopefully) just around the corner!!

  4. that is a great photo! good eye for noticing the opportunity!

  5. I think the snow is really pretty but we have had so much that I am pretty "snowed out" I am so ready for Spring! I really like the picture!

Thanks for your comment!
