BARK.
Tuesday, September 27, 2011
How interesting is the bark on this tree? I walked past it recently and found the patterns, textures, and colors just so beautiful.
MONDAY, MONDAY.
Monday, September 26, 2011
I don't know what it is, by my weekends have just been flying by lately. Do you feel the same? This past weekend, I spent time at my parents' house, where I went for long walks on the beach and listened to some old records that my parents had thankfully held on to. It was wonderfully relaxing & rejuvenating. On Sunday, I went to the Life is Good Festival where I saw some amazing acts, ate some delicious food, and had a generally fantastic time.
On another note, have you noticed that the leaves are starting to turn? I was so excited to see some yellow, orange, and red amongst the green. Fall is really here!
I'm happy to be linking up with Ashley from a {little} dash of ash for her Instagram Link Party. Do you use Instagram? Join in the fun!
What did you do this weekend? I'd love to hear!

AUTUMNAL.
Friday, September 23, 2011
Today marks the first official day of fall, and I couldn't be more excited. Without a doubt, the next few months are my favorite of the year. I've always loved the freshness that fall brings; September will always feel more like the start of a new year to me than January 1st ever could. Fall makes everything feel new and exciting -- yet comfortingly familiar. I just adore the crispness in the air, the beautiful changing leaves, drinking hot apple cider, finally getting to wear sweaters again, and absolutely anything pumpkin! Luckily, I can't imagine a place more perfect to enjoy fall than in New England. This season, I'm looking forward to checking out some local festivals, carving some pumpkins, and enjoying the last of the nice weather before Boston looks like this again.
What do you enjoy most about the fall? I'd love to hear!
IT'S ELECTRIC.
Thursday, September 22, 2011
How pretty is this painted electrical box in the South End? It was painted by Yuko Adachi, a local artist, and adds wonderfully unexpected color to the neighborhood. The colors and patterns are just so vibrant, cheery, and fun. Wouldn't it be nice if there was more fantastic street art like this around?

BRICK HOUSE.
Wednesday, September 21, 2011
Last weekend was impossibly beautiful, with just the perfect blend of warmth and crispness in the air. I spent as much time as I could outside, enjoying the sunshine. Living in New England, you just never know how long nice weather will last. [ Case in point: it is supposed to rain the rest of the week. ] As I was wandering around, I just had to stop and take pictures of this beautiful building. The fading cream paint was simply stunning against the red brick, and the light was hitting the leaves of the tree so perfectly. It was a moment I know I'll revisit when winter settles in.
THROUGH THE WIRE.
Tuesday, September 20, 2011
I went for a walk the other day and just thought the highway looked so pretty through this wire fence. The red and yellow car lights blended perfectly with the pink and orange of the setting sun.
BACK TO REALITY.
Monday, September 19, 2011
This past weekend was the kind that makes you wish you were on a permanent vacation. It was indulgent, relaxing, busy, and a whole lot of fun. It was my boyfriend's birthday this past week, so we had a lot of celebrating to do!
Friday was dinner at 5 Napkin Burger, where they have the most AMAZING homemade pickles. Seriously, well worth the trip for those alone. Saturday started off with a ridiculously delicious brunch at Tremont 647, and continued with a long walk around the South End. My boyfriend and I then went to the Red Sox game at Fenway (more on that later!), which is always a great time. We finished up the night at La Verdad for dinner and drinks. They have some seriously great Mexican food -- and margaritas! On Sunday, we had breakfast at Pavement Coffee House. (If you're ever looking for a good latte in Boston, look no further!) In the afternoon, we went on a tour of the Harpoon Brewery and had a great time seeing the facility and sampling beer. (The UFO Pumpkin is my new favorite!)
I'm really not quite ready for it to be Monday yet -- is it too early to start counting down until Friday?
