Provincetown is one of my favorite spots on Cape Cod. A few weeks ago, I spent a wonderful afternoon exploring the town with my Mom. As I mentioned here, I always love visiting the Cape during the quiet winter months; everything feels so calm and still. While quite a few restaurants and shops were still closed for the season, there was still plenty to see.
It was an incredibly windy day, but the sun was shining brightly. The sunshine reflected on the windswept ocean waves has to be one of the prettiest sights I've seen.
Provincetown in renowned for its art galleries, and is even home to an artist colony. Many of the galleries were closed, but made for some interesting window shopping.
I think I will always be happiest near the ocean, and Provincetown is a consummate beach town.
As you may have realized, I have a minor obsession with signs. I especially love signs when they are advertising food. Or books. My Mom and I got fudge from the Provincetown Fudge Factory and it was seriously amazing.
The buildings in Provincetown are absolutely gorgeous, and feature the prettiest details. It's hard to be in a bad mood when surrounded by so many soft pastel colors.
The moments before the sun sets make up my favorite time of the day. I love the way everything is bathed in a soft golden glow, and made to feel a little more peaceful.
I hope you enjoyed Provincetown as much as I did!
